In the structure of the city’s water supply and sewerage system, a pumping station of any kind (water intake, intermediate risers, pumping stations, and sewage stations) is one of the many nodes that ensure the stable operation of the system as a whole and allows to control the technological mode of pipeline operation. networks and sewers. The level of automation of most pumping stations is quite low, and often there is no automation at all. However, automation in water utilities is needed to more effectively manage the technological process of extraction and transportation of water, as it reduces energy consumption and more efficient use of available resources.

The automated control system of the pumping station (ACS NS) performs full functional control and management of the station at the local level of water supply or sewerage, and when connected to the network of automated control management ensures the operation of the station throughout the city system.
The structure of the ACS is based on the principle: receiving information from various primary sensors (pressure, level, etc.), its analysis and archiving, control of actuators (drive pumps, valves, etc.) in accordance with software modes of operation, display of information and equipment status (light and audible alarm, terminal, display).

The approximate configuration of the pump station shown in the diagram allows to obtain the following data:

– pressure in the pressure pipeline;
– water consumption;
– current of each electric motor of the pump unit, as well as the total electricity consumed by the pumping station;
– position of latches (exact or fixed);
– level in the water tank (or in the receiving tank for KNS).

And also manage:
– switching on / off of pump units;
– opening / closing of latches.

The number of primary sensors and control elements of the station can be both reduced and increased as needed. For example, it is possible to obtain data on the temperature of the pump bearings, the temperature in the engine room, the alarm of the door opening and the presence of strangers, the level of drainage, while controlling the drainage pump, etc.
